Joan Barnes
Children's Centres Manager
Joan joined the Children's Centre when it first opened in August 2004. Moving to Haverhill from her native Cumbernauld, near Glasgow, Joan brings a wealth of experience in both childcare and management.
Joan's career in providing childcare started 26 years ago when she set up a toddler group in a local community centre, this progressed to a play group. For 14 years before joining the Centre Joan managed a nursery and out of School Care providing education and daycare for 180 children.
Joan is well qualified with an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, D32 and D33 in Childcare Assessing, a NEBS Business Diploma in Management, First Aid Certificate for adults in the workplace and a Hannan award for You Make The Difference programme facilitation. Joan is a mother of three grown up children, Joan's motivation for her long career in childcare has come from firsthand experience of the difficulties of finding childcare in a situation where there is no immediate family on hand to provide support.
Tina hickey
Family Support Worker
Tina Joined the Centre in January 07 and comes originally from London Tina has two teenage children. Before coming to the centre Tina worked for the Health team supporting them in their role, Tina made home visits and give advice to parents. Tina holds a Cache Level Tree in Childcare and a Massage Instructors Certificate,Tina Hickey has now began her Social Work (BAhon-s.)
Sandra Bird
Cartwheels Children's Centre Day Care Manager
Sandra is our Playcentre Manager.at Camps Road. Starting out as an NNEB at Waltham Forest College to her most recent position as a teaching assistant at the Clements Primary School in Haverhill, Sandra's career in childcare has spanned twenty eight years and several different locations. Sandra has two grown up children and has NVQ Level 4 qualifications.

Joan Nevins
Manager Health Services
Joan is currently the Manager for Health Services with responsibility for the district nurses, health visitors and health promotion in HMP Highpoint and Edmunds Hill.
Joan has worked in the field of healthcare for 26 years, she is passionate about her work believing that with guidance and support both parents and children can develop the confidence and capability to achieve so much independently.
Nicola Battle
Area Development Manager - Adult and Community Learning
Nicola joined Adult Community Learning in 2003. In her role as Manager of the Adult Community Learning project Nicola runs and organises numerous workshops and groups in the Western area of Suffolk.
The groups are to provide services for parents to offer support and information regarding a range of topics including how to become more assertive and confident when dealing with their children and other adults and how play can help your child learn.
She believes that in life we never stop learning and hopes that the groups can offer support and information to enable people to feel confident in their abilities and achievements.
