Our Philosophy“Explore, dream, discover” Mark Twain
This is the philosophy we have adopted at Cartwheels Children’s Centres. We believe children should be free to learn through play.
The interesting environment we have created at our two Centres provides all the children with the opportunity to have fun and use their imagination to explore, dream and discover.Early Years education recognises that children learn through play, it is the way they make sense of the world around them. Experiences from childhood will stay with the children forever. We endeavour to create exciting and positive experiences at Cartwheels – designed to last a lifetime.
We acknowledge that children, just like adults, are individuals.
Our genetic make-up ensures that every one of us is unique. At Cartwheels we nurture individuality, our approach with each child is as individual as they are. We encourage children to develop and learn at their own pace to achieve learning milestones.
It is generally believed that all children progress through the developmental process in a similar way but at different rates. The rate of progress is attributed to a combination of the genetic make-up of the child and the impact of the child’s environment and experiences. We try to positively influence the environment and the experiences the children have by creating situations that promote curiosity, experimentation and independent thinking.
Positive encouragement plays a key role in motivating children to learn and realise their potential. Achieving the right balance of encouragement is vital – too much can make the child feel under pressure and have a negative impact on their learning experience. The appropriate level of encouragement ensures the child is motivated to achieve what we know they are capable of.
Life is a journey of exploration, dreams and discovery for us all, the choices we make determine how exciting that journey will be.
The team at Cartwheels help your children during the early stages of their journey. We teach them to think and explore their reasoning, to experience the excitement that learning and knowledge can bring. We build relationships with the children that give them the confidence to explore their environment, articulate their dreams and discover their own capability - as well as the wonders of the world in which they live.
