Children's Centre

Located in Norton Road, Haverhill, the Centre opened in August 2004.  It provides Early Years education and childcare for children aged from birth to Five and can accommodate up to 34 children at any one time.  The facilities include a self contained baby and toddler room and a separate room for pre-school

The majority of the funding for the Centre came from the Neighbourhood Nursery Initiative who awarded a grant of £270000; a capital grant of £100000 was received from St Edmundsbury Borough Council, £100000 from the Children's Centre funding and the remaining £170000 from Suffolk County Council, NOPF, Big Lottery Fund, and the NHS who funded seven places.

This significant investment has resulted in an attractive purpose built facility designed to offer affordable high quality Early Years education and childcare as well as providing a focal point for the local community.

Management

The Nurseries within the Centres have Charitable Status and are a Limited company run by a voluntary management committee.  The day to day operation of the Children's Centre is the responsibility of the Children's Centre Manager and the Nursery Managers.
